Bibbidi Bobbidi Couture

Once upon a time, we decided to do a princess session, with my take on common princess designs. I was very quick to pick a model I had in mind for this dress. The little girl in the picture will play dress up several times a day and she is a glowing princess. And "Cinderella" is one of the most suited princesses for her.

My take on the dress was just to keep it full. I love the softness of chiffon which you will find spread throughout the underskirt, and the layers of satin done with pick ups. I was over-joyed with how the dress turned out and truly giving this princess the "cinderella" inspired look.

Tattered Lace Couture

There is one person in my life that stands out for inspiration above all others. That is my Grandma Mehler. She was the reason I started sewing and crafting. After she passed, she left me all of her crafting items. I had a box full of laces for years that I just didn't know what to do with. One day I decided I had to put them into one of my designs. I then began to think of my friend Kathy, who inspires me to keep sewing and designing everyday. Kathy LOVES anything vintage and she is also a fan of rosette fabrics. The outome of these inspirations were the Tattered Lace Couture dress. As I pieced everything together bringing life to old fabrics and paring them with new, I fell in the love of the simplicity of this dress.
