Me oh My, I LOVE this fabric!!! Yes, it is true, I am a little obsessed
with fabrics and it is dangerous for me to walk into any fabric store,
but this rosette fabric is gorgeous!! (and how exciting that it comes in
so many colors!!). When I found it, I KNEW I had to make something
extremely divine out of it. As I sketched, I began to play with a full
ballgown. However, it was the bodice of the dress that had me stumped.
Believe it or not, I made 5 different bodices! The
trick was making something soft, because there is so much dimension in
the skirt fabric, but making something equally amazing. I loved coming
up with the asymmetrical look with the soft, chiffon sleeve. Of course, working with chiffon can be a little tricky, even for the most experienced seamstresses. Adding in a
corset back and elastic sleeve cuff, keeps with the adjustability of my
designs. (Who wants to pay large amounts for a child's dress they will
grow out of in a couple months!).
