I stock up on fabric deals whenever I can, and had a roll of
this beautiful sparkle chiffon laying around for literally years. My photographer was wanting to do some
fantasy work, and I began looking through some photos. I began thinking of ways to create a “fairy”
look for a pre-teen girls. Lord knows,
there are girls in that age group who want to dress up, but are too embarrassed
to do so, so why not create a couture look for them! As I sketched, I knew I had my work cut out
for me, as each one of the chiffon squares in the skirt had to be cut and given
a rolled hem finish to create just the right look. I was so excited as the look took shape, and
as I decided on a simple long bodice for the dress, I knew I had to add just a
little extra touch. That was when I
found the rhinestone piece and began hand sewing a beautiful
embellishment. To my amazement, I was so
thrilled with the model we chose for this dress and she did a fabulous job!!!
